Texas Parks and Wildlife Dundee State Fish Hatchery Owner: Texas Parks and Wildlife Location: Electra, Texas Project Description: COMANCO was contracted by Texas Parks and Wildlife - Dundee State Fish Hatchery to remove and dispose old liner, and replace with new LLDPE 40 mil liner. Two crews were brought in to finish this efficiently and effectively. With the right mix of personnel, seperate crews were formed for liner disposal, subgrade preparation, batten bar removal/installation, anchor trench digging/backfilling, and liner installation. |
|
There were 73 ponds to rework. The scope of work included over 10 miles of anchor trenching/backfilling, more than 11,000 linear feet of batten bar removal/reinstallation, 1,500,000 square feet of liner disposal, and just over 3,000,000 square feet of new liner installed. The project was completed in some of the toughest weather conditions. Between the brief moments of sun and tranquility, the crews battled everything from 40 mph winds to snow and ice. The crew worked at a quick pace through the difficult weather conditions to complete the project ahead of schedule. Texas Parks and Wildlife was so impressed with COMANCO's safety, professionalism, attitude, work ethic, and high quality of craftsmenship that they awarded COMANCO two change orders on the project for an additional 24 ponds.
